BrandPartnerships

We partner with brands and nonprofits to tell stories of the people who build, shape, and sustain their movements.

Over the years we've had the great privilege to tell stories of lives changed by extraordinary organizations—through life-saving care, newfound identity, economic opportunity, artistic inspiration, and countless other moments of human connection.

Many of our collaborations have grown into long-term partnerships spanning dozens of short films. We think that's the greatest compliment we can receive.

BROOKLYN BREWERY

When we first connected with our neighbors at the Brooklyn Brewery, we were shocked that so few people knew the story of it’s founder Steve Hindy—a war correspondent who started brewing beer in his bathtub. It is still among the best we’ve ever heard.

Our initial profile of Steve was so well received, it led to a years-long partnership with the brewery that was perhaps our most fun and wide-ranging collaboration to date. In the process, we got to help the Brooklyn Brewery develop a unique public voice and launch several on-going digital strands for their brand.

eBAY SELLER STORIES

When the pandemic shut down much of the country, people across America quietly began reinventing themselves—turning their passions into businesses on eBay.

eBay was eager to tell their stories, but shooting documentaries in dozens of states at the height of the pandemic was no easy task. To accomplish it, we developed remote production processes that enabled us to create more than 25 unique seller profiles in rapid succession without sacrificing the intimacy of the films.

The seller stories spawned hundreds of social videos and helped audiences engage with the purpose, community, and opportunity eBay presented in an uncertain time.

BE THE DIFFERENCE

We’re helping the Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation raise $1 Billion for healthcare and medical research in New Jersey—with a little help from Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning and Jersey Mike’s founder Peter Cancro.

It was an honor to be trusted with the most personal stories of everyday people’s lives—from battling brain cancer to facing financial ruin from medical bills—and the remarkable caregivers fighting day in, day out to create solutions where none exist. Getting voicemails from Danny DeVito is sort of a thrill too!

23andME STORIES

Personal genetic testing companies inspired excitement and skepticism from the very beginning. But below the debate, we saw remarkable stories of individuals whose lives were being altered in new and undeniable ways through access to their own DNA.

Over the course of a partnership spanning nearly five years, we told dozens of stories featuring 23andMe customers and witnessed the remarkable fusion of science and humanity— families reunited after decades of estrangement, long-held assumptions of ancestry and identity transformed, and discoveries that reshaped people's understanding of their health and well-being.

THE LEGACY PROJECT

The Dramatists Guild approached us eager to capture interviews with an aging generation of legendary playwrights and composers.

Our pitch—Instead of formal interviews, let’s recruit up-and-coming playwrights to spend a day of conversation with their idols. Our first pairing was a little-known playwright by the name of Lin-Manuel Miranda in conversation with Joseph Stein (Fiddler on the Roof, Zorba).

Over 30 episodes, the series has become a living archive of theater history with legends like Stephen Sondheim, Arthur Laurents, Edward Albee, Tony Kushner, Stephen Schwartz, and many more. Through our connection to Alexander Street Press, the series was distributed to hundreds of colleges and universities, and quickly became one the distributor’s most successful titles to date.

LIVING YOUR DREAM

Financial planning isn't the first place we’d expect to find deeply personal stories. But behind every successful retirement, we found someone living a dream they'd spent decades working toward.

We wanted the films to feel as personal as the people in them. So instead of relying solely on archival photos or disconnected b-roll, we developed a visual treatment that incorporated meaningful objects from our subjects' lives, pairing them with cinematic footage of the lives they'd worked so hard to create.

Originally commissioned as a web series, the work resonated so with our brand partners that they expanded it into a national broadcast campaign.
